Bug Club
Bug Club is a fun and motivating way for your child to get some extra reading mileage and work on comprehension strategies at home. Students complete assigned eBooks and embedded quizzes, earning tokens which they can redeem in their chosen Bug Club world.
The children use bug club throughout the week as part of our reading rotation. They each have an individual log in clipped to their Trusted Learner lanyard, which they quickly memorise. Bug Club could be used as a reward after the children have read their daily reader with you :)

Take Flights Tye Park Crab descriptions
My crab has got big eyes. My crab hides under the sand and under rocks. My crab is dark green and light green. My crab can breathe under water and out of water. My crab can hunt for food.
By Charlie
The green crab looks like it's going to nip every one and it looks scary when I look at it. The eyes look googley and I think it's going to dig a hole in the sand so that no one can get it. The green crab has a weird nose.
By Patinna
My crab is spotty and it is navy blue. It has huge pincers and it was cute. It was hiding in the rocks. It had purple on it too. I didn't pick it up though because it would nip me.

Trip to Tye Park
The Weather held out for Take Flight today and we had an amazing time at Tye Park exploring the estuary marine and plant life. Some of the questions posed to prompt discussion amongst the children were:
-What do you notice about the water?
-What creatures can you find? Where did you find them? Why do you think they were in that place?
-What type of plants do you see? Where are they growing?
-Look at where the stream is flowing in-how is it different or the same as the ocean part?
-What things do you see that might harm the estuary and the things that live in there?
-What is the sand like? Is it the same everywhere-how does it change?
-How do people use the estuary?
-How is the estuary different or the same to the the beach?
Thank you to all the fabulous Parents who helped supervise groups throughout the day. :) :)
