Kowhai Kids

Tasting Smoked Fish Heads

On Monday we looked at some smoked fish heads. We were pretty amazed that something so ugly could taste so good. This is what we wrote:

It looks like the fish has been eating peanut butter. It tastes like meat to me and it smells like sugar.
By Denzel

Today Mrs Anthony brought two fish heads into Kowhai. The fish's scales are like little circles and ovals. The teeth are sharp in the fish's mouth. I did not eat a bit of the fish.
By Travis

The teeth are slimy and the eyes are scary. They have scales to protect them. I don't know where the brain is.
By Hemara

The teeth remind me to brush my teeth because they are all brown. The eyeballs look disgusting. it looks angry to me.

It looks like it has eaten a lot of food and it has to brush it's teeth. But it can't because it has no hands.

Teddy Bear's Picnic

What a fabulous Friday.
Today all the Year 0 to Year 2 children celebrated with a fun Teddy Bear's Picnic Day.
We rotated through five different activities and then finished off with a shared lunch out under the tress with our gorgeous teddy bears.
The aim of the day was to raise money for Plunket and it was great to see everyone bring along a gold coin donation. Well done everyone for truly showing you are Kererus :-)
